Any tips for making a spindle handle for my lathe?

Hi,
I've been browsing YouTube for various ways of making myself a spindle handle for the lathe. I just wondered if there was any tips anyone would like to share on making one?

After tapping 128 holes for the adaptors, and 50 threads for the rods I made for Alex, I need something more convenient and that won't give me blisters.

So far I think I would be leaning to a quick release one as I can see it been a faff getting access to the spindle at the change gear end. (For those that don't know it's set up in a 6x4' shed). I can put the lock into place and just connect and disconnect the handle as it's needed, I tend to use around 300mm lengths of bar stock or shorter, so as long as the lock doesn't interfere with the bar stock this should be ok.

Any other pitfalls of this kind of design?

Please help.
Thanks!
I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
